TBT’s 2019 Gala Is Now History!
If you look at the Facebook pages of those who joined us for our Gala, you will see a glimpse of the magic that became a night of love showered upon the woman who has been called “the glue of TBT.” Miriam was surrounded by more than 200 of us who celebrated her career here at TBT, which spans not only the past 30 years since she came to TBT as our Director of Education, but a lifetime of dedication and commitment to the Jewish community. A special thanks goes to Lynette Northcutt and her committee, who dreamed, planned, and presented an incredible event. Watch your email and the Scroll for details of another upcoming event in Miriam’s honor as she begins her retirement in June, 2019.
Announcement of Newly Established TBT Fund
Miriam Van Raalte Scholarship Fund
At Saturday night’s Gala, TBT Treasurer Henry Cohen shared the following:
“Tonight, with this Gala, we honor Miriam’s years of nurturing and dedication. But we also want her to know that we care about her future. We know that as a lifelong teacher, she is also a dedicated learner. Miriam tells us that she has always dreamed of the day when she would have the time and the resources to go back to school to become a Rabbi.
Tonight I would like to announce the creation of the Miriam Van Raalte Scholarship Fund at TBT. Its purpose is to provide financial assistance to Miriam as she embarks on that new journey. Pledges totaling $5,000 have already been received and we ask that you generously contribute to this Restricted Fund so that we can reach a goal of $15,000 for the one-year tuition.”
Donations can be made to this fund through TBT’s website, or directly to TBT as you would any other donation. Thank you for helping to make Miriam’s dream come true!
