THE TASHLICH CEREMONY
The ceremony of Tashlich is purely symbolic in its origin and is observed mainly by Ashkenazi Jews. Tashlich denotes an action emphasizing the yearning to be cleared of sin and the hope that one may be forgiven. We will observe the Tashlich ceremony on Saturday, September 15th at 4:00 p.m. at the south side of the lake at Tri-City Park. Tri-City Park is located on the west side of Kraemer between Imperial and Bastanchury. Please come and join us for a short service, songs and the customary “casting” of the bread upon the water. Children will be given bubbles as they symbolically blow away their wrongdoings from the past year. Please do not bring bread with you. We will provide bread crumbs so as to not overfeed the ducks.
