What a great event we had last Wednesday to celebrate Chanukah. About 150 people joined together at TBT for the festivities, including our “Latke Cook-Off.” Thanks to the many latke-makers, including several teams from our ECLC. Thanks to those who had the difficult task of judging the entries to decide on a winner. Mazel tov to Greg & Denise Spalter who won first prize for their award-winning latkes. It was amazing to see the variety of latkes, which ranged from sweet to savory.
Thanks to our Ulpan students who rolled up their sleeves and made 3 varieties of applesauce to go with the latkes.
Thanks to grandparents, Linda Spector, Michael Fisher, and Karen Gottlieb for their expert storytelling skills in sharing the gift of reading with our youngsters.
Thanks to our TBT Sisterhood & Men’s Club for sponsoring the event. And thanks to Evelyn Bell for coordinating all the aspects of the evening.
And on Friday night we came together to celebrate Shabbat & Chanukah, while rededicating our newly refurbished menorah/chanukiyah. The project to clean and renew this unique piece of art was inspired by TBT member Lou Ann Taback and her daughter, Dori Taback-Hazen (an alum of TBT’s schools and Camp Swig). Read the story of the menorah coming in the January issue of THE SCROLL. Thanks to the Peddie Family for their donation to make the rededication possible, and thanks to Elaine Asa for her efforts in bringing the Peddies and Tabacks together for this project.
